Being clueless about network marketing is like the bite of a black widow spider, slowly and quietly it robs us of our dreams -- our freedom. The good news is you can make it a thing of the past. I'll show you how a little later.
Millions of people worldwide are clueless about network marketing. What makes the situation worse is that many of these people are not even aware that they are clueless about this business concept.
Here's an example of what I mean...
A few years ago while I was still an employee in one of the big four accounting firms, I overheard a conversation between two of my colleagues. One lady was telling another about an experience she had the day before. Her story went something along these lines...
"You know what?" She started her conversation. "Yesterday my neighbor came over to my place to show me what she called the greatest business opportunity in the history of the world. What she showed me scared the daylights out of me.
She drew some circles on a piece of paper, one of which she said was representing me...while the others represented other people I would be bringing into the business."
But what really caught my attention was when she said "I would have joined her business opportunity had I not heard of this kind of scam before. It's this thing called network marketing."
Phew! "....this kind of scam..."
"...this thing called network marketing."
These are very powerful emotionally charged judgmental phrases.
I wanted to intervene. But I decided against the idea because I suddenly realised what the real problem was. I actually realised just how long it would take to change the lady's view of network marketing. And it wasn't the few minutes I had available.
You see, this lady's problem was that her view on network marketing was set or made up. It felt like it was cast in stone -- hard to break.
An even bigger problem for her was that she did not know that she was clueless about network marketing.
For her, any business opportunity called network marketing is a scam. But nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is...
Network marketing is a legitimate business opportunity available to anyone willing to put in what it takes to build a successful business. And...
and
even people pressed for money and time are able to build successful network marketing organisations from almost nothing.
But it's also true that there are scams out there. Some involve fraudulent business practices while others take the form of illegal pyramid schemes.
But these are in any area of business, be it network marketing or conventional business. But this does not make every network marketing company or conventional business a scam.
Your challenge then is how to tell a legitimate network marketing business from a pyramid scheme or scam.

There's a story about a famous zen master who was one day visited by a university professor.
While the master quietly served tea, the professor talked about Zen. The master poured the visitor's cup to the brim, and then kept pouring.
The professor watched the overflowing cup until he could no longer restrain himself.
"It's overfull! No more will go in!" the professor blurted.
"You are like this cup," the master replied, "How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup."
The moral of this story is that you may not see the truth about network marketing if you approach your investigation with preconceived ideas and prejudices about it. You will remain clueless about network marketing.
